design and connectivity
Samsung Galaxy A54
We start by design with two very similar devices here. Despite having a plastic structure, the Korean company decided to apply Gorilla Glass 5 to the back of the Galaxy and placed the lenses loosely on the lid, to give it a more premium appearance. The Moto still has a camera block, which is now smaller.
The A54 is the smaller of the pair in height and thickness, but the G73 has less width and weight than its rival. At least, the Korean contains IP67 certification, to guarantee protection once morest dust and water.
Motorola Moto G73
Samsung also placed the fingerprint reader under the screen in its phone, while Motorola still used the more outdated biometric sensor integrated into the power button. At the front, manufacturers opted for a hole-shaped notch.
Both offer storage expansion via the microSD slot shared with the second carrier chip. In terms of connectivity, they bring Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC, for approximation payments. Only the Galaxy comes with sixth-generation Wi-Fi. The Moto is limited to the AC standard.
The A54 opens the scoring for the most advanced design.

The Moto may have a slightly larger screen and better use of the front, but its IPS LCD panel is behind the Super AMOLED type present in the Galaxy. The Korean ends up delivering the best level of brightness and the widest viewing angle of the duo.
The two smartphones have a Full HD + resolution for good image definition, in addition to the 120 Hz refresh rate, which enables satisfactory fluidity in the system animations.
Another differential of the Korean is the presence of Gorilla Glass 5, which gives additional protection once morest scratches. Something the competitor chose to leave out.
Higher quality and superior brightness. Samsung scores one more point.

As
Both one and the other did not leave aside the audio and inserted a stereo system in their respective models. The call speaker acts as a secondary channel to aid user immersion.
Their sonic power might be far from perfect, but the Galaxy is still a step above. This is also what provides the best balance between bass, mids and highs. None of the manufacturers send headphones in the package, except that the Moto comes with the standard input to connect any accessory you have.
It’s another point for Samsung.

System
These devices come out of the box equipped with Android 13 natively. The A54 is on the list of recipients with four software updates, which gives it much more longevity than the single guaranteed update for the G73.
The mobile network will not be a problem on these phones, as 5G is present on both the Galaxy and the Moto. They also deliver good fluidity, boosted by their display’s high refresh rate.
Samsung has added features to its device such as Edge Screen shortcuts, the ability to extend RAM up to 8 GB and the full equalizer with Dolby Atmos. Motorola already highlights the famous gestures to turn on the flashlight and open the camera, in addition to the Secure Folder, a function also present in the rival.
With good resources on each side, the Korean’s life weighs more and decides the point for him.

Performance
The Galaxy is powered by the Exynos 1380 platform, and the Moto is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 930. The two with 8 GB of RAM, which is the best performance of the duo? Our speed tests showed a small advantage of around two seconds for the G73. It mainly benefits from multitasking to beat the competitor.
Benchmarks already indicate a scenario of greater potential for the A54, with more scores on AnTuTu and Geekbench. In games, they alternate between which one does better when it comes to running the most demanding titles with superior quality.
In this way, Motorola takes the point, for its multitasking performance.

Battery
These are two more smartphones that have a 5,000 mAh battery. Same capacity, same autonomy? That’s not quite what we saw in our standardized tests. The Galaxy recorded an autonomy of 27 and a half hours away from the socket, regarding three hours more than the almost 24 and a half hours seen in the Moto.
When we move on to loading the scenario is reversed. The A54 takes approximately two hours to reach 100% with its 15 W adapter. The G73 benefits from the 30 W TurboPower and completes the process in just over an hour.
Samsung scores for superior durability; and Motorola scores for the fastest recharge.

Both have sets of rear cameras led by a 50 MP main one. The difference is that the Galaxy comes with one more lens than the Moto. Overall, both are capable of taking good pictures during the day, with more vibrant colors and a higher level of detail in Korean. The A54 also comes out on top for sharpness in night shots.
Motorola’s ultrawide ends up suffering more than Samsung’s with the drop in quality compared to the main one. At the very least, this sensor comes with autofocus on the G73, which allows for better macros than those captured with the competitor’s dedicated camera.
Galaxy still has more advantages here and takes the point once more.

The Galaxy’s camcorder supports 4K video at 30 fps, while the Moto’s is still limited to Full HD resolution. In addition to superior quality, Korean also has more advanced stabilization and more responsive focus than the competitor. At least stereo audio capture is guaranteed in both cases.

Samsung’s front camera has twice the resolution of the sensor used by Motorola. This results in higher detail selfies during the day for the Galaxy. The A54 still registers colors closer to reality and doesn’t suffer as much from grains at night. Their portrait mode doesn’t look ugly or make the background blown out. To complete, the Korean is the only one of the duo to film from the front in 4K.
Samsung widens the scoreboard.

Both one and the other were officially launched in the Brazilian market. The Galaxy A54 was available for a suggested price of BRL 2,900, above the BRL 2,000 initially charged for the Moto G73. When we analyze the current retail, the two appear below BRL 2,000, but with slightly lower values for the Motorola model.
Therefore, G73 closes the duel with the last point.

The Korean won the intermediate match with a certain gap on the scoreboard. The A54 presented more qualities, from its more modern and resistant design, to the superior camera set in photos, videos and selfies, passing through the brightest AMOLED screen and the most powerful and balanced sound. It also offers the longest-lasting system of the duo.
On the other hand, the G73 offers the fastest performance and the battery that charges in less time, despite having a lower autonomy compared to the rival. Even with the difference in score, the Moto costs less, which can mean having a satisfactory cell phone without hurting your pocket so much. However, it is the Galaxy that will offer you the most complete experience in this category of devices.
