Purchases on international websites fall 16% in 2023 following the arrival of Remessa Conformo
Remessa Conformo is having an impact on the volume of imports below US$50. According to information revealed this week, the number of orders in this modality fell by 16% in the first ten months of 2023.
The numbers show that in October this year the reduction was 54.3% compared to the previous 12 months, going from US$ 1.449 billion last year to US$ 658 million this year. This coincides with the arrival of Remessa Conformo in August, the month in which the import tax for low-value purchases was zeroed at the federal level.
It is still necessary to remember that all purchases now need to pay a rate of 17% to the states, and the tendency is that in 2024 the exemption for orders under US$50 will be revoked, increasing to a rate of 20% on these goods .
Xbox Game Pass might get a free version with ad viewing
According to rumors released this week, Xbox Game Pass might get a free version in 2024. To do this, users will need to watch ads.
It would be a proposal to, for example, offer some advertisements so that the user can enjoy hours of games. This business model might be particularly relevant in regions where there is a young population with mobile devices but limited disposable income.
Some examples include Brazil, India, South Africa and other developing countries.
For now, we don’t have anything confirmed yet, but if it is launched, this plan might be important to attract a new generation of users, something that is essential for Microsoft.
