Samsung Galaxy A23 5G
This isn’t one of those cases where the M line falls short of the Galaxy A in design. This is because both provide the same dimensions and weight, in addition to several features in common, such as the presence of a rectangular camera block, positioned vertically and with the same background color as the lid.
In construction, both are composed entirely of plastic, with few distinctions. The A23 has a matte finish, to make the footprint less slippery, while the M23 has metallic paint, which leaves less fingerprints.
Samsung Galaxy M23
None of them contain protection once morest water and dust. At the front, the Korean option was for the notch in the form of a hole. The fingerprint reader was on the side, integrated into the power button.
The duo doesn’t leave out the dedicated microSD card slot, to provide storage expansion. Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in them are fifth generation. There is also NFC technology in them, to guarantee approximation payments.
Without major differences in design, we started the duel with a draw.

On both sides, we see a 6.6-inch screen, with practically the same frontal use and Full HD+ resolution. It is the LCD type in them, which leaves the level of brightness and the viewing angle below the desired one.
We also don’t have any technology here that can improve the playback of streaming services. At the very least, the refresh rate tops out at 120Hz to make system animations smoother.
If there is a tiebreaker, it is the presence of Gorilla Glass 5 on the A23 5G, which provides extra protection once morest scratches.
In the details, the Galaxy A line cell phone gets the point.

As
Samsung skimped on audio in these devices and put only one mono speaker in the duo. In other words, the immersive user experience is compromised by the lack of a stereo system.
As a result, we found suboptimal sound power in both the A23 and the M23. At least, the A-line model is more accurate in terms of quality, as it delivers a superior balance between bass, mids and highs.
The manufacturer no longer sends a headset with the smartphone, but at least both have a physical connector to plug in any standard accessory.
It’s point for the A23 5G.

System
These devices come out of the box still with Android 12 natively. Samsung guarantees at least three major updates of the “little robot” in these cell phones, which allows for satisfactory longevity for the future.
Their mobile network does not disappoint in terms of speeds, thanks to the support for 5G technology. In terms of fluidity, One UI takes advantage of the 120 Hz rate of the duo’s panel, as well as the presence of RAM Plus, to improve the user experience.
Now when we go to the features, the highlights here are due to the Edge Screen shortcuts, the possibility of opening the camera by pressing the power button twice, in addition to the various interface customization options.
We have pretty much the same experience over here. Therefore, we give one point for each.

Performance
The A23 comes equipped with the Snapdragon 695 and only 4 GB of RAM, once morest the Snapdragon 750G and 6 GB in the M23. Which one has the best performance? Our tests showed an advantage of almost a minute for the Galaxy M, largely due to the larger memory, which allowed it to better handle apps in the background.
The scenario evens out in the benchmarks. The M23 wins on AnTuTu, and the A23 5G wins on Geekbench. However, both cases recorded a small difference in scores. In games, lighter ones run smoothly on them, while complex titles perform satisfactorily.
The multitasker weighs more and gives the point to the M23.

Battery
Both in one and in the other, the Korean placed a 5,000 mAh battery. But the same capacity doesn’t mean they offer the same duration. The M23 proved to be more efficient in our standardized tests, with more than 28 hours of battery life. Much more than the less than 25 hours recorded by the A23.
Moving on to charging, Samsung sends a 15 W adapter in the packaging of these smartphones. Even so, the two spend almost two hours in the socket. The Galaxy A takes a few minutes less, but it doesn’t quite make up for the lower performance.
So the point goes to the Galaxy M.

These intermediaries have rear camera sets led by a 50 MP main sensor. With it, both take pictures with colors without exaggerating the saturation, correct contrast and efficient HDR. The night mode of the two helps well to recover lost details, even if the noises are more evident.
Only the A23 comes with a blur lens, which doesn’t disappoint, but it also doesn’t do a different job than the M23’s software portrait mode. They even bring a macro camera, which suffers from low resolution and lack of autofocus.
What will really differentiate one from the other is the ultrawide. The Galaxy M has a wider sensor with higher resolution, for images with better definition, even if both suffer from blurring at the edges and a drop in sharpness compared to the main one.
The ultrawide camera ties the tie in favor of the M23.

Only the M23 supports 4K video at 30 fps. The A23 5G is limited to Full HD resolution, but differs from the “brother” in that it comes with optical stabilization, which helps to better deal with shakes, a difficulty of the Galaxy M. At least, the two provide agile focus and sound capture good quality stereo.

The manufacturer has placed an 8 MP front camera on these devices. Both take good selfies during the day and feature a portrait mode that doesn’t blow out the background. At night, the duo is more dependent on a light source, to avoid a lot of grain and loss of detail. Front-facing footage on them is limited to Full HD.
We have one more draw.

The two Samsung smartphones were officially available in Brazil. The Galaxy A23 5G arrived in the country for a suggested price of BRL 2,300, more expensive than the BRL 2,000 charged at the launch of the Galaxy M23. But the current scenario is very different. The A line model can be found in the range of R$ 1,400, a brand still far from the M series device.
Thus, A23 closes the Comparative with the last point.

Like many of the issues in which the duo was very similar, the clash between Samsung’s affordable intermediaries ended in a tie. This means that your choice will go through what each one proved to be best.
The Galaxy A23 5G stood out on the multimedia side. It delivers the screen with greater protection once morest scratches and sound with greater frequency balance. Not to mention that it is the cheapest option among them, something that weighs well in this category.
In turn, the Galaxy M23 delivers the fastest multitasking performance and the longest battery life as its assets. It also provides the highest quality ultrawide camera and is the only one to record 4K videos, despite having problems with shake, something that the “brother” handles better by optical stabilization.
