The 15th National Kalaripayat Championship started at Sai LNCP. Sports Minister V. Abdurahman inaugurated. Minister Abdur Rahman said that the state government will take the initiative to gain more recognition and fame for Kalaripayat at the national level. Sai LNCP Principal Dr. G Kishore was the chief guest. Indian Kalaripayat Federation Secretary General Adv. Poonthura Soman, Sports Council President U. Sharafali, Sports Council Secretary A. Leena, Kerala Kalaripayat Association Secretary Adv. R. Vasantha Mohan and others were present in the opening ceremony. Around 700 players who have won the state competitions are participating in the competition which will be held till the 13th. The competitions are in seven categories.
