GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Students at several Gainesville schools are now award-winning chess champions.
Gainesville was well represented at the national k-12 championship in Orlando last weekend
Buchholz’s team and Lincoln Middle’s team got second place.
They were in the 9th and 8th grade competitions respectively.
Williams Elementary placed among the top for 5th and 3rd grades.
Aak Hall Academy swept the competition, with 1st place wins in kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade.
