A romantic relationship is very likely to not run smoothly, some survive, some end in separation. That is the story that Gabriella Ekaputri wants to underline through her latest single, Burning Room.
The single Burning Room is the second single for this talented young singer since he made his debut in the Indonesian music industry through the single Me & U, some time ago.
In the single Burning Room, Gabriella Ekaputri collaborated with two Swedish musicians, Linnea Gawell and Jonas Peker, as the songwriters, bringing the color of pop music with a touch of sad folk in it.
Of course, this is very different from the song Me & U which is more danceable and focuses on Gabriella Ekaputri’s very capable dancing ability. In the song Burning Room, which has a slow tempo, Gabriella Ekaputri’s vocal ability is very clear and becomes her main weapon.
“When I heard the demo of this song, honestly I was challenged, maybe you could say it was like, okay, very technical. But when I worked on it, I could do it, and I was very satisfied with the result,” said Gabriella Ekaputri about the single Burning Room.
The theme of the single Burning Room is broken heart, which tells about a relationship that can no longer be saved from separation.

This song tells the story of a couple who once loved each other very much until their relationship slowly deteriorated to the point where they felt like they couldn’t recognize each other.
“So this is about a breakup, a broken heart, a separation from a love journey that cannot be reunited, even the ending can make one not know each other. It’s really bitter. However, that’s the path that must be chosen,” said Gabriella Ekaputri.
From the sound department, Jonas Peker as an arranger gives a very sweet touch to the song. Very minimalist by only presenting the sound of piano and violin instruments, but it is very correlated with the theme of the song which emphasizes melancholy. Moreover, Gabriella Ekaputri’s sweet voice character makes the song even more perfect.

Meanwhile, the music video concept of the single Burning Room is also very cool. It was done by YouKnowWho with David Christover and Gaby Cristy as directors.
It is said to be cool, because the video is also conceptualized without displaying many gimmicks. Simple, but very effective.
The music video is made to tell a story, all feelings from happiness at the beginning to sadness at the end are also presented in the music video. Moreover, the visual tone presented is also very comfortable to the eye.
“Of course I hope this single can be heard by many people, and can also be a reinforcement for those who experience the same thing as the story in the single “Burning Room”. Because, love is not always sweet, but never give up on love,” Gabriella Ekaputri hopes.
This single is now available on all your favorite digital music services. The music video can be viewed directly on Gabriella Ekaputri’s official YouTube account. (Z-1)
