Gabriele minì to Participate in Jeddah rookie Free Practice
Italian Formula 2 driver Gabriele Minì will be behind the wheel for Nissan Formula E Team during the Rookie Free Practice session at the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix.
The event, marking the first of the double-header races for the GEN3 Evo era, will take place on February 14 and 15, 2025. Minì’s experience in Formula 3,where he secured a runner-up finish in the 2024 championship, and his Formula 2 debut, which included a podium finish in Baku, have solidified his place as a promising young talent.
“I’m looking forward to this opportunity,” says Minì. “Last year’s Berlin Rookie Test with the team was my first experience in an electric race car, and I learned a lot. I’m confident that can definitely help me in Jeddah. The biggest challenge I found in Formula E is the complexity of the race simulation, needing to be speedy while also efficiently managing energy. I’ve worked in the simulator to prepare for the challenges in Jeddah, but there will be unknowns as this is a new circuit. My goal is to help the team for the remainder of the weekend by collecting as much data as possible.”
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal of Nissan Formula E Team, expressed his enthusiasm for working with Minì again: “We’re delighted to be working with a great talent like Gabriele again after the Berlin Rookie Test in Season 10. He’s shown impressive performance with us as the begining and has also had a very strong season in 2024, finishing second in Formula 3 and securing a F2 podium on his debut.
“this Rookie Free Practice session is very vital because it will be the very first time the cars will be on track at a brand-new location. We’ll be looking to collect as much meaningful data as possible during those 40 minutes, and that’s precisely why we wanted to get Gabriele back for this session, as we certainly know he can definitely help us with the initial car setup. We look forward to being back on track with him and to his contribution to the team ahead of the race.”
