In Chile, the future left-wing president Gabriel Boric, soon to be 36, will take office on March 11. And this Friday morning, he unveiled his first government from a museum in the capital. Gabriel Boric thus broadens his coalition. His team ranges from the Communist Party to the center left. And for the first time in Latin America, the future government will be made up of more women than men, including for sovereign ministries.
From our correspondent in Santiago, Justine Fontaine

In total, Gabriel Boric decided to appoint 14 women once morest only 10 men. And here is how he defines their mission, two years following a historic uprising once morest social inequalities: We will carry out all the reforms that we have proposed, step by step, as we said during the campaign. Because we are convinced that the vast majority of Chileans are asking for structural reforms, which allow them to have a dignified life. And so that the place where we are born does not determine where we go ».
An expanded coalition
Several of his relatives, former student leaders with whom he demanded in the street ten years ago free education will enter the Palace of La Moneda with him. But Gabriel Boric knows that he will not be able to govern without the traditional centre-left parties. He therefore widened his coalition, and in particular appointed several socialists, such as the granddaughter of the ex-president, Salvador Allende.
Finally, to reassure the business community, the outgoing director of the central bank will take over the reins of the Ministry of Finance.
