The president of the transition split the pear in two. Brice Oligui Nguema appointed Jean-François Ndongou, a leader of the deposed party, to the presidency of the National Assembly. As president of the Senate, he called on Paulette Missambo, one of the main opposition figures.
The bureau of each of the two chambers of Parliament will have four vice-presidents. Former executives of the Ali Bongo regime, opponents, members of civil society and soldiers will occupy these positions.
The Transitional National Assembly has as its first vice-president the opponent François Ndong Obiang of the 2023 alternation platform, followed by Admiral Gabriel Mali Ondjoua. Florentin Moussavou of the former presidential majority is 3rd vice-president. Activist Geoffroy Foubloula Lebika Makosso will sit as 4th vice-president.
In the Senate, Luc Oyoubi, who became number one in Ali Bongo’s party, is the first vice-president. General Jean Ekoua is the 2nd followed by activist Marc Ona who will occupy his first official position at the highest level of the State. Ditto for Pastor Georges Bruno Ngoussi promoted to 4th vice-president.
