GABON/Declaration of the Collective of Elected Officials of the National Union

GABON/Declaration of the Collective of Elected Officials of the National Union

July 23, 20220

The process that led to the renewal of the governing bodies of our party was a fine democratic exercise. November 13, 2021 will indeed mark the accession of Madame Paulette MISSAMBO to the head of the party.

As a reminder, the chosen method of election did not envisage the need to exclude a fringe of activists even though the scores obtained showed that the urgency was more to bring together all the activists to better move forward.

But it is clear that since Mrs. Paulette MISSAMBO chairs the party, it is struggling to regain cohesion. A situation that worries the activists and of course the municipal councilors of Libreville who have decided to act by questioning the President for the first time on the need to gather and take the measure of the decisions that she is taking and which are anti-statutory. In particular the appointment of certain non-militant provincial representatives until the day of their appointment, the relocation of the headquarters without informing the militants.

Dear colleagues and dear activists, in the face of this uncomfortable situation, local elected officials have decided to seize the president once more by letter dated July 12, 2022, dropped off at party headquarters. The president and her team fell into a contemptuous silence.

Faced with all this, we believe that the cup is full President Paulette MISSAMBO behaves not as the leader of a political party but confuses this one with a ministerial cabinet as some at the time set themselves up as village political cells or province by systematically removing those who were opposed to it. His lack of openness, dialogue and consultation, contrary to his rallying speech expressed on January 10, 2022 at his HQ, leads us to recall for all intents and purposes that:

At the end of the election, the militants and the public had hailed the attitude of Mr. Paul Marie GONDJOUT to congratulate his adversary. A gesture that will recognize the victory of its competitor.

Then, Mr. Paul Marie GONDJOUT will mark with his presence on January 08, 2022 the political return of the party an additional gesture in his direction to show his availability for the party. But will all these contributions be in vain?

Mrs. Paulette MISSAMBO president of the party, through her travels and the orientation of her speeches now makes us doubt her ability to endorse the jacket of party leader. By choosing her campaign HQ to be a party headquarters, she remained attached to her clan more than to the party. The same is true of her travels outside the Estuary province, to Lambaréné and Lebamba during which she never met the militants and leaders of grassroots bodies.

Moreover, the party gives no sign of inclusive preparation for the next elections.

So many grievances and shortcomings which lead us today to note that the foundations on the basis of which the party was created are at odds with the current governance and very many are the activists who get lost and do not recognize themselves in it. more.

Consequently, and in responsibility, we, local elected signatories of the mail, we oppose these errors which endanger the spirit and the cohesion of the party. Also, we solemnly proclaim the split of the party and announce the creation of the INITIAL NATIONAL UNION

In view of the above, we ask Mr. Paul Marie GONDJOUT who led the competing list to lead the new entity and to present to us as soon as possible the composition of the National Office.

Thank you
