Gabon can greatly benefit from the experience of the Al-Omrane Group, a pioneer in the field of housing, planning and urban development, the Gabonese Minister of Housing and Urbanism said on Saturday in Rabat. , Olivier Abel Nang Ekomiye.
During the visit of a large Gabonese delegation to the group’s headquarters, Mr. Nang Ekomiye indicated that Al Omrane, Morocco’s leader in the housing and urban development sector, has the necessary expertise in matter, expressing his country’s desire to deepen the ties of cooperation with the Moroccan group.
Al-Omrane Group Chairman of the Board, Badre Kanouni, for his part, stressed that this visit offers a valuable opportunity to intensify cooperation and partnership with Gabon, reaffirming the group’s historic commitment to active cooperation. and as close as possible to the concerns of its various partners on the African continent, within the framework of bilateral programs or through the actions undertaken by the international organizations in which the Group operates.
This working session between the two parties was an opportunity to watch an institutional video reviewing several projects carried out by the Al-Omrane group in the city of Tamesna, including the cultural center, the Youth House, the industrial zone, vocational training, the city of trades and skills, the great mosque and the great park of Tamesna.
The Gabonese delegation also made a field visit to one of the group’s most important residential projects, the “HQE” pilot residential project which respects environmental and energy saving standards.
In this residential project, locally made materials have been used, according to modern specifications, with walls that insulate sounds and help soften the air inside the apartments, both in summer and winter, in addition to a water management system that prioritizes ecology.
The visit of the Gabonese delegation, led by the Gabonese Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, to Marrakech, Tamesna, Chrafate, Tangier and to several other projects, is part of Gabon’s participation as Country Guest of Honor at the 18th edition of the International Building Exhibition (SIB 2022), which is held in El Jadida until November 27.
Visits and meetings will be organized over two days to allow the Gabonese delegation to learn more regarding the national experience, particularly in terms of urban modernization and the development of urban centers and new towns, by visiting both Tamesna and Chrafate, in order to assess the specificity of this type of works and their beneficial effects on socio-spatial balances and the quality of life of citizens.
