G. Nausėda awarded 20 laureates of the “Power of Lithuania” initiative

“Every time I open the list of initiatives of “Lietuvos magistos”, I cannot help but be surprised by their diversity. I see inspiring stories of people who are not afraid of challenges, offer ideas and gather like-minded people. I don’t know this from hearsay or short descriptions – together with Diana and team members we visited more than 50 initiatives in two years. Every time we are convinced of the amazing ability of people to inspire each other for joint action”, G. Nausėda said in the announcement of the Presidency on Saturday.

The annual awards of the civic initiative “Lietuvos Galia” were held for the second time. According to the Presidency, the initiative connects about 400 organizations and communities in Lithuania, the USA, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, Germany and Norway

From among the selected nominees, the public and the commission, made up of experts in various fields from the public and non-governmental sector, voted for the laureates in four categories: “Green Lithuania”, “Strong Lithuania”, “Right Lithuania” and “Innovative Lithuania”.

The goal of the “Lietuvos galia” initiative is to promote public involvement in the life of the state and strengthen civic power. It is a platform for volunteers, communities, active citizens and others to present their activities, find like-minded people and receive support.
