G. Landsbergis, V. Čmilytė-Nielsen will discuss regional security with their colleagues from the Baltic countries

G. Landsbergis and V. Čmilytė-Nielsen will participate in the 29th meeting of the Baltic Council in the Estonian capital.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed, the head of diplomacy is going to present the priorities of next year’s Lithuanian presidency of the Baltic Council.

The Speaker of the Seimas will also participate in the events of the 42nd Baltic Assembly.

“Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the resulting threat require exceptional attention to the security situation in the Baltic region. In this critical environment, it is extremely necessary for the Baltic states to maintain their integrity and further strengthen mutual integration in order to get rid of dependence on Russian influence, and strengthen their voice in the European Union and NATO,” said V. Čmilytė-Nielsen.

Seimas Vice Speaker Andrius Mazuronis, MPs Andrius Kupčinskas, Orinta Leiputė, Vytautas Juozapaitis, Ligita Girskienė, Kęstutis Masiulis, Audrius Petrošius, Linas Slušnys, Romualdas Vaitkus, Valdemaras Valkiūnas, Juozas Varžgalys and Antanas Vinkus are also going to Tallinn.
