Future Coalition: Launch of New Party Led by Lawmakers and Former Representatives

The preparation committee for the establishment of the new party Future Coalition (tentative name) for the 3rd zone, led by lawmakers Kim Jong-min, Cho Eung-cheon, and Lee Won-wook, who left the Democratic Party of Korea, and former lawmakers Jeong Tae-geun and Park Won-seok, from the People Power Party and Justice Party, respectively, was launched on the 14th.

This morning, they held a party founding convention and a founding committee inauguration ceremony at the National Assembly building. In its statement of purpose, the Future Coalition said, “We must break down the two-party monopoly politics of vested interests.”

The Future Alliance said, “Politics so far has been eager to compete for power, but has been incompetent in changing the lives of the people,” and “distrust of vested interest politics has already passed the critical point.” He continued, “The drive for innovation within the two vested parties has long since disappeared,” and “We must now move from winner-takes-all politics to multi-party democracy.”

Attending the launch ceremony on this day were former representative Nak-yeon Lee, who is pushing for the creation of the New Future (tentative name) party, Lee Jun-seok, platform and policy committee chairman of the New Reform Party (tentative name), Tae-seop Geum, co-representative of New Choice, and Yang Hyang-ja, representative of Hope for Korea. All personnel from the 3rd zone were mobilized.
