Several hundred people attended this Friday morning in Herstal the funeral of Domenico D’Atria, the driver of the quad killed in Oupeye last Friday during a police check that went wrong. The man had refused to submit to the control and tried to flee.
As the family had requested, many quads, motorbikes and sports cars accompanied the funeral procession from the church to the cemetery with horns and roar of engines.
There were people from the region, but we also saw a lot of foreign plates, French or even Polish.
On the spot, a certain tension was palpable vis-à-vis the press and the police, but the ceremony took place without incident.
