It is a question, through this gesture, of allowing these groups to launch the second phase of their project of production of soaps, bleach and local juices.
“We have provided funding and products to women members of women’s groups in Bokki Saboundou, with the aim of enabling them to launch the second phase of the production of local soaps, bleach and juices”, a- he specified.
Abdoulaye Sy spoke at a ceremony to hand over funding from the sale of products manufactured during the first phase of the project.
He recalled that the women members of the beneficiary groups had taken the decision to continue the work begun following training in the production of soaps, bleach and local juices. The goal is to ensure “their well-being and that of their families”, he stressed, adding that it is also regarding making them “autonomous”.
The president of one of the women’s groups in the village, Dieynaba Dioum, says that the money collected from the sale of products has enabled some women to build buildings, to store products and make workshops.
