Before the by-election scheduled to be held on the 16th, leaders of the ruling and opposition parties rushed to the campaign site.

Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who went to Ganghwa, Incheon, said that the regime that did not reflect after the election defeat should be subject to a “second trial.” People’s Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon stayed in Busan for two days and one night to protect the garden of the ruling party.

On the first weekend of the official campaign, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, went to Ganghwa, Incheon.

He appealed to residents of Ganghwa County, who mostly choose conservative candidates, to support him, saying: “Please let them compete and hold them accountable at all times to make the people fearful.”

He said loudly that now is the time for a second judgment on a government that has failed to reflect on its election defeat.

“This is a perfect opportunity for the residents of Ganghwa County to send a second warning to the regime on behalf of all the people.”

People’s Power Party representative Han Dong-hoon visited Busan’s Geumjeong District for two days and one night, focusing on cultivating “conservative gardens.”

Rep. Han drew a line at criticizing the regime, saying, “You can criticize central politics, but this election is not that kind of election,” instead emphasizing “humanitarianism.”

The move to unify opposition candidates in the Busan region has been criticized as “collusion.”

“For political collusion, we planned to stage a unified performance in the beautiful land of Jinjing, which is not such a place.”

Cho Kook, leader of the Cho Kook Innovation Party, who has been living in Hunan for a month, visited Gokseong-myeon, South Jeolla Province, to appeal for support for his candidate.

“I am Artoran, a human from the city of Wajin.”

The Democratic Party and the Innovation Party, which agreed to unify Busan’s Geumjeong-gu district chief, will decide on the final candidate after polls tomorrow.

Although the election is a small one, electing four local government heads, it is expected to be an important indicator of public opinion as it is the first national election after the general election.
