Full Speed Ahead: The Troy Andersen Phenomenon Taking the Gridiron by Storm

Troy Andersen (born April 23, 1999 in Dillon, Montana) is an American football player at the linebacker position. He has been playing for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL) since 2022.

Andersen went to school in his hometown of Dillon, Montana Highschool Beaverhead County Highschool. Here he played for the high school football team in the position of quarterback and safety. Between 2017 and 2021 he attended Montana State University, where he initially played running back and linebacker for the college football team. Later he was also used as a substitute as quarterback. In his senior year of college, he became a… Big Sky-Defensive Player of the Year appointed.[1]

Troy Andersen was selected in the second round, 58th overall, by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2022 NFL Draft.[2] Andersen finished his first professional season with 69 tackles and one pass defended.

In his second NFL season, he was placed on the injured reserve list after the third game day due to a shoulder injury.[3] which meant the end of the season.

On the fourth game day of the 2024 NFL season, he caught an interception, which he ran back 47 yards for a touchdown. He also recorded 16 tackles. For this achievement he was named Defensive Player of the week appointed.[4]

Anderson is the cousin of MLB baseball player Cody Heuer.[5] Andersen graduated from the university with a degree in agribusiness.[6]
