Full Sail University, an institution located in Orlando that offers undergraduate and master’s degrees focused on entertainment areas, announced on September 25th the winners of the TechFest 2024. The event featured four categories: 3D design, application prototypes, artificial intelligence solutions and interactive games.
In the first, students had to design a model of a new superhero using TinkerCad software. The second challenge was to design a quick prototype for a new mobile application, using Adobe Creative Cloud Express. In the third category, they needed to develop a solution to a problem faced by their community using Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the last one, students had to develop an interactive game, using the Twine platform.
“TechFest instigates four different project fronts, in which students can put into practice everything they know about technology and new aspects of the creative industry. This enhances their understanding of their careers and shows that it is possible to work in areas they are passionate about,” says Carol Olival, Community Outreach Director at Full Sail.
Category winner 3D Character Design It was student Beatriz Castro Okasaki, from Colégio Marista Santa Maria, and received a Wacom Intuos CTL4100 Small Digitizing Table as a prize. In Application Prototypestudent Amanda Machado, from Colégio UNIVAP, took an Alexa Echo Dot 5.
Student Bernardo Dunetz, from Colégio SESI Internacional de Curitiba, received a Combo Gamer with Keyboard, RGB Mouse, Mouse Pad and Headset for the project Artificial Intelligence Solution. And student Beatriz Fernandes, from Instituto Alpha Lumen, was awarded a Gamdias Zelus E3 Weave Reclining Gamer Chair by Interactive Game Design.
In addition to the winners, the institution also awarded 12 other students from Brazilian schools with honorable mentions. “It is very pleasant to take these projects forward and we want this event to be even stronger in the coming years, with new technologies and innovations”, says Olival.
