With 65% of voters having voted, turnout at 5 p.m. first round of the presidential election in mainland France is down nearly 5 points compared to 2017 (69.42%). But it is, as usual, very different department by department.

At 5 p.m., it was in the South-West where the most votes were cast. The five departments where voters mobilized the most are Dordogne (75.26%), Aveyron (73.93%), Gers (73.71%), Haute-Loire (73.53%) and Pyrénées-Atlantiques (72.78%).

At noon, the three best scores were Saône-et-Loire (39.05%), Gers (37.71%) and Ardèche (35.55%). The Gersois were already the second most mobilized in 2017 at midday.

Conversely, the departments where participation is lowest at 5pm are all in Ile-de-France and Corsica. This sad podium is occupied by Haute-Corse (51.23%), Seine-Saint-Denis (51.71%), Paris (52.17%), followed by Essonne (56.19%) and of Corse-du-Sud (58.48%).

The two Corsican departments and Seine-Saint-Denis were already the three to have voted the least in 2017 over the whole day. The inhabitants of the capital were, on the other hand, among the most mobilized departments in France. There is an hour and a half to two and a half hours left, depending on the location, to vote.
