Formula 1

The 39th Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring is expected to take place in perfect summer weather.

The Formula 1 race weekend extends over three days, and tickets for the final on Sunday were already sold out in January (!). Zsolt Gyulay can therefore look forward to full ranks at the 39th Hungarian Grand Prix. At a press conference on Monday, the CEO of the organizer Hungaroring Sport Zrt. said that construction work for the comprehensive modernization of the race track had been suspended specifically for the sporting event.

Unique perspective before the jump

The investments are a prerequisite for Hungary being booked in the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2032. Visitors will notice the changes at the main entrance this weekend. In addition, the area behind the Super Gold main grandstand has been expanded and packed with attractions related to the racing circus, Gyulay announced. This includes a 60 m high bungee jumping tower, which offers the daredevils a unique perspective of the race track before jumping into the depths.

S-curve for Ayrton Senna

In memory of the three-time world champion Ayrton Senna, who tragically died in an accident thirty years ago, the S-curve of the Hungaroring will be painted in the Brazilian national colors green and yellow.

The “Senna Curve” was “dressed” in the Brazilian national colors.

Because the heat alert may be extended into the weekend, the organizers are preparing for hot days, which they want to make as bearable as possible for the visitors by providing plenty of water. As usual, the racing drivers will also receive hand-painted vases from the Herend porcelain factory as prizes, which this year feature the Far Eastern motif of peonies.

Please arrive by train!

A new partnership with the state railways MÁV is intended to encourage fans to travel to Mogyoród by train rather than by car. This is not only less stressful, but also environmentally friendly and cost-effective. The “Vármegye24” day ticket is also available for foreign guests as an “F1 Travel Pass” for 999 forints (approx. 2.50 euros).
