Subscriptions to the new State bond have more than likely already exceeded the two billion euro mark, said Thursday evening Jean Deboutte, director at the Federal Debt Agency. The subscription period started this Thursday and continues for another week. This one-year government bond offers a coupon of 3.3%, which corresponds to a net rate of 2.81%.

This Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the Ledgers service of the Debt Agency already had 33,600 registrations for a total amount of 1.147 billion euros. The average amount is around 34,000 euros, twice as much as in previous government bond issues, according to Jean Deboutte. But it is also possible to go through 13 approved banks to subscribe to the State bond. “We believe that the subscriptions are of the same order there”, continues Jean Deboutte. “We are therefore already probably above two billion eurosbone. The Federal Debt Agency will have the exact figures for this first day of subscription on Friday noon.

Subscriptions are possible until September 1 via an underwriter or until August 31 via the ledger service.
