Vegetable oil has indeed “not at all the same viscosity as diesel, and it depends a lot on temperature, which implies a strong variation between winter and summer”.
“The consequence for the user”develops the expert, “it’s that the deposit will accumulate in the combustion chamber, the pistons, or on the injectors”, even more in winter when the oil will be cold. This is why this recycled frying oil cannot be used 100%, but only mixed with diesel, and requires regular maintenance of engine parts clogged with deposits.
