Fuel prices: how the fall of the Euro weighs on us

Despite a price of a barrel of brent well below that of 2008, prices at the pump remain higher. Explanations.

A little over two months ago, the price of a barrel of Brent reached levels not seen for ten years. On March 8, it was trading around 133 dollars, approaching its historic high of July 2008, set at 147.5 dollars. Since then, the market has calmed down somewhat. Although it fell below the symbolic one hundred dollar mark ten days ago, a barrel of Brent is now trading around 110 dollars. That is a drop of 15% in two months favored by the confinements in China, synonymous with a drop in demand compared to a stable supply.

Yet at the pump, motorists saw little significant change. The diesel and the Super 98 camp above €2 per litre, while the Super 95 comes close.
