Fuel prices: from when will you benefit from a discount of 30 cents at the pump?

Since April, due to soaring fuel prices, the French have benefited from government aid of 18 cents at the pump. With the purchasing power law, the boost will soon be increased to 30 cents.

While they were down in early August, the prices of the various fuels have been rising slightly for a week according to the specialized site Carbu.com. While prices at the pump remain very fluctuating, the government will strengthen its assistance to motorists.

Its discount at the pump will drop from 18 to 30 centimes per liter from September 1. This is what was voted in Parliament at the beginning of the month, as part of the purchasing power law package of measures.

Degressive measure

The reduction is immediate for the motorist and all fuels are concerned. The price following discount is displayed directly at the pump and via the totem panels at the entrance.

The government measure will remain in place until October 30. It will then be greatly reduced to no more than 10 cents per liter of fuel for the months of November and December. As indicated L’automobile magazinenothing is set for 2023.

This rebate is supplemented by aid at the pump of 20 cents offered at TotalÉnergies stations. As with government aid, this boost will be reduced to 10 cents for the last two months of 2022. Thus, as Bruno Le Maire declared at the end of July, a liter of fuel might cost 1.50 euros in September. But that shouldn’t last.
