Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergie has announced the forthcoming implementation of new aid at the pump to help holidaymakers refuel this summer.
Gasoline is always expensive. Even though the pump discount of 18 centimes from the government must still run until the end of July, some distributors do not hesitate to go even further by offering all kinds of discounts. Either directly at checkout, or with the help of a voucher to be used later on shopping, such as at Carrefour, Leclerc or Casino.
In the stations of the Total network, it is thus possible to take advantage of a rebate “of at least” 10 cents in addition to that of the government, i.e. a saving of almost 30 cents on a litre. But faced with this measure which was to end on May 15, Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergie, announced the extension of the latter for this summer.
Only on the highway
“In particular, we will help holidaymakers who will be traveling this summer for holidays with a ten cent discount on all TotalEnergies stations located on French motorways”, he told our colleagues from the Midi Dispatch Friday, April 29, without however specifying the start and end dates.
However, the rebate should be implemented in July and August.
However, the latter will not concern the entire total network. It will not be applied than at stations on the highway. A welcome discount even if, as Patrick Pouyanné admits, the price on motorway concessions is higher than elsewhere in the territory. “Maybe it will allow competitors to do the same,” he says.
