Employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Pskov region detained a Ukrainian citizen while trying to spy for the Ukrainian special services. This was reported in the press service of the FSB of Russia in the Pskov region.
“The FSB stopped an attempt by a citizen of Ukraine to collect information in the interests of the Ukrainian special services,” the TASS press service reports. They added that a citizen of Dnepropetrovsk collected information regarding Russian border guards and Ukrainians cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the region.
A citizen of Ukraine has been issued a warning regarding the inadmissibility of committing espionage. He is banned from entering Russia until 2053. The spy has been an agent of the SBU since October 2022, but was unable to transfer the data, as he was detained, the press service concluded.
Previously, Russia offered issue arms residents of border areas to protect the country from saboteurs and spies from Ukraine. It is recommended to create a semblance of the Soviet organization “Smersha”. It is believed that the border areas need weapons to ensure territorial defense.
