Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation conduct searches at the assistant to the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Sergei Umnov. This is reported by sources familiar with the situation.
“The security forces visited Umnov’s service apartment in Moscow. Searches are also being carried out in his apartment in St. Petersburg and in a country house in the village of Udaltsovo in the Leningrad Region, ”Izvestia notes.
The reason for the searches is not known. Official information and statements of departments in this regard have not been received either.
Umnov from 2012 to 2019 was the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. After that, he became an assistant to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
