Frontal collision in St. Martin: Young Mühlviertler seriously injured

The serious accident happened around 5:15 p.m. in the municipality of St. Martin im Mühlkreis (Rohrbach district). According to the police, the 28-year-old was driving his car on the L1507 towards the B127. He followed a pickup truck and turned left toward a gas station. The young man from the Mühlviertel may have overlooked an oncoming car driven by a 20-year-old from the Rohrbach district. The result was a serious accident.

Car thrown over stone wall

The 20-year-old crashed his car head-on into the right side of the car that was turning, in which the 28-year-old was driving. The younger driver’s car was rotated 180 degrees and came to a stop on a bike lane. The 28-year-old’s car was first thrown into the gas station entrance and then over a stone wall into a garage entrance.

The young Mühlviertler was trapped in the vehicle. The volunteer firefighters from St. Martin freed the seriously injured man from the wreck. After first aid by the rescue and the emergency doctor, the 28-year-old was taken to the Rohrbach hospital. Both cars were totally damaged, police said.
