**Karen:** Thank you so much for having me.
**Host:** so, Karen, let’s go back to January 2024. What prompted yoru decision to give up alcohol?
**Karen:** Honestly, it was a pretty rough New Year’s Day. I woke up with the worst hangover I’ve ever had,and it was a real wake-up call. I realized something needed to change for my health and well-being.
**Host:** And that change meant giving up alcohol entirely? That must have been a big decision.
**Karen:** It was definately a challenge. But there was a sense of clarity that came with it. I knew it was the right thing for me.
**Host:** Did you face any particular challenges or difficulties during your first year sober?
**Karen:** There were definitely moments when it was tough, especially in social situations. But joining online sobriety support groups really helped. Knowing I wasn’t alone made a huge difference.
**Host:** That’s grate to hear. Did anything surprise you about this journey?
**Karen:** I was surprised by how much better I felt.My energy levels increased, I was sleeping much better, and I had this newfound sense of calmness. I’d forgotten what it felt like to just feel good without relying on alcohol.
