The state road administration is using the holiday season to bring damaged road surfaces into shape. “During the holiday season, there is up to 25 percent less traffic on Upper Austrian roads. We want to use this phase to carry out road and bridge repairs efficiently,” emphasises State Transport Minister Günther Steinkellner (FP).
City of Wels: The town, which is part of the federal highway 1, Magazine Street is being renovated over a stretch of around 400 metres due to the poor condition of the road. A half-side closure is to be expected. The construction work will take several weeks and will end in August.
Wels-Land District: At the Traun Bridge near Marchtrenk The footpath and cycle path will be resurfaced. Work will take place from July 8th to August 5th.
In Holzhausen, Marchtrenk and Oftering There will be several total closures on Paschinger Straße due to repair work. These are planned for August 12th to 31st.
Two road repairs are in Stadl-Paura at Schilcherberg and in Edt at the intersection with the Wichtlstube. The work will extend over both summer months.
District of Grieskirchen: The desolate surface layer of Grieskirchner Straße (L528) in the municipality of Wallern renewed. The construction phase covers a length of around 500 meters.
The construction site on Ruhringsdorfer Straße (L1182) in Hofkirchen an der TrattnachAmong other things, the Aubach Bridge is being completely renovated there. The work will begin in mid-July and end in early September. The road will be closed during this time. A diversion will be displayed.
Two new bridges are to be built on the B137 in St. Georgen near Grieskirchen. The old bridges are so dilapidated that it has been decided to demolish them. Construction work will begin on July 8th and end on September 13th.
Traffic will be diverted via Rottenbacher Straße (L518) and Rieder Straße (B141). To direct traffic flows, a temporary traffic light will be installed at the junction of Rottenbacher and Rieder Straße.
In Gaspoltshofen A bridge structure that is more than 80 years old is being completely renovated on Gallspacher Straße (B135). The work has already begun and will end in July.
District Eferding: In alcove To improve traffic safety, three railway crossings will be closed on Eferdinger Straße (B129). Due to the reduced number of traffic junctions, a third lane has been arranged as a left-turn lane, a closed area and an extension of the bypass lane. The work will run until October.
