From tropical to minimalism: 4 Christmas decoration trends

A Christmas decoration You don’t always have to fall into the same old ways. Of course, it’s worth reusing decorations from previous years, but with a close eye on trends it’s possible to revamp the decor with little investment and practical solutions.

We spoke to the interior designer Newton Limaalways attentive to new developments in the segment, which highlighted four trends to transform the decoration of Natal without losing the traditional charm of this time of year.

“Christmas brings us back to nostalgic and childhood moments, so something commemorative always deserves to be brought”, points out the professional who, despite having already ditched the tree a few years ago, doesn’t give up on a garland on the front door.

“Adapting the traditional adornments to a ‘fresher’ color palette, such as light blues and greens, will bring a tropical harmony to the whole”, reveals Newton.

It’s not new that dry arrangements enchant with their beauty and practicality, but they will be even more present this Christmas. “Bouquets and garlands with dry branches are still in demand as they do not require watering or maintenance”, explains the designer.

“I notice the trees with less adornment, only using lamps that bring a minimalist charm to the result”, he points out.

Controversies? For sure! “I confess that I once had a certain prejudice once morest artificial plants, but I continue to be increasingly impressed by the quality of pine trees and permanent table arrangements”, reveals Newton.
