Volkswagen begins production of the ID buzz microbus once more
Volkswagen has announced that it has started assembling the Volkswagen ID Buzz microbus at its factory in Hanover, Germany, following the facility was repaired and extensive renovations were made over the past two years to accommodate the construction of the electric truck. Deliveries to European customers will begin next fall while US buyers will have to wait as long as shipments won’t start arriving in America until late 2023.
Volkswagen said it has practically started production of ID buzz cargo, and joins other electric cars such as the T7 as well as the Transporter T6.1 at the renovated German plant. To make sure an easy and smooth assembly process started, regarding 4 thousand employees received specialized training.
The expected price of the “Volkswagen ID Buzz” microbus
The price of the classic ID buzz microbus will start at €46,455 in Germany for the Cargo model, subject to the eco-discount. As for the ID Buzz Pro, it is sold starting at 56,606 euros. Over the course of 2022, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles aims to assemble up to 15,000 units.
