The payment of advance payments for livestock compensation to livestock farmers affected by the bad weather Daniel in Thessaly began today, as the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, told SKAI.
For crop production, the process of paying advance payments of compensation will begin next Friday.
The minister reported that yesterday 150 million euros were initially transferred from the state budget to ELGA, noting that compensation for the disasters will exceed 200 million euros, while so far more than 20 million have been paid to farmers, breeders, fishermen and beekeepers.
Regarding the animals that have been lost by the breeders and the stables that have been destroyed, the minister said that the funding will be 100%. He pointed out that in this way the opportunity is given to build modern livestock facilities, safer, less energy-consuming and more environmentally friendly.
According to the protothema, regarding the final amount of the compensations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications noted that this will be determined once the assessment process is completed.
