Visa-free Japan tourism for Koreans, which was suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, is allowed once more following 2 years and 7 months
The Japanese government resumes visa waiver measures for 68 countries and regions around the world, including South Korea, which were suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.
Even without a visa, Koreans can stay in Japan for up to 90 days for sightseeing, visiting relatives, or field trips.
It is the first time in regarding two years and seven months to resume visa-free entry for Koreans.

“From October 11, Japan will ease border controls and resume visa-free and private travel.”
The COVID-19 quarantine process will also be greatly simplified.
If you have a certificate that you have been vaccinated three times, which is recognized by the World Health Organization, you will be exempted from the pre-boarding examination for a flight to Japan.
If you do not have a certificate of 3 doses of vaccine, you must present a certificate that the test was negative before departure.
If there are no symptoms of infection following arrival in Japan, there is no need for testing and isolation.
In the travel industry, expectations for a trip to Japan have been suppressed for a long time, and as Japanese prices are relatively cheap due to the recent decline in the value of the yen, it is predicted that the demand for travel to Japan will increase rapidly.
Local governments in Japan have already requested the expansion of air routes in preparation for the increase in Korean tourists.
