From this Tuesday the operation of trains in the Acevedo metro station changes

The Medellin Metro reported that the entry and boarding of trains will change to starting this Tuesday at the Acevedo station, the second with the highest flow of passengers following San Antonio —with a daily average of 66,780 people—.

What are the changes? The first thing is that users who are going to board a trainwhether heading south or north, should do so through the side platforms of the station and those who want to leave they will have to do it by the central platform.

The Metro explained that once the trains arrive in Acevedo, the first doors to open will be those that allow passengers to exit through the central platform; later, it will be the entrance through the side platforms.

“The change is due to the fitting out of the new lateral platforms, Well, with line P (Picacho), inaugurated in June 2021, the Acevedo station was expanded and modernized to support the demand of 4 lines,” the company said.

The infrastructure available at the site went from a north head, with a central platform and a car garage, to a new south head and two side platforms. Belalcázar, Toscana, Plaza Colón, Playitas, Acevedo, Feria de Ganado, Héctor Abad Gómez, Villa Niza and La Francia will be the sectors that will be affected by the new adjustment.

The Metro recognized that the change in the operating dynamics might generate discomfort among users, for which He asked for patience and understanding during the first days. The guides of the system will provide the necessary support in response to the need for information.
