Last year, it was decided for the first time to distribute money from the Raasik municipality budget to people’s initiative projects, i.e. to implement an inclusive budget. Of the three projects presented in the first inclusive budget, two met the conditions of the inclusive budget. With both, sports equipment was requested for the village of Pening, and both were included in the planned support budget of 10,000 euros. Therefore, the committee consisting of the chairmen of the council’s committees and the representative of the municipal government decided to merge and approve them.
Village head Marit Neidla said that thanks to the inclusive budget, Pening village got a small sports campus with a strength training center, a barbell and an outdoor tennis table last year.
“We will make the official opening when the surrounding area is also organized,” he said.
This year too, 10,000 euros will be distributed with an inclusive budget. The municipality of Raasik has announced a collection of ideas to find the best public initiative project.
