And Such and Such Show al Sanremo Festivalone of the protagonists of Carlo Conti’s program dreams big.
Just two episodes were enough for Carlo Conti to win his bet: the cast of Such and Such Show this year is of a very high artistic level. The episode of September 27th, moreover, confirms it: the performances of Verdiana Zangaro, Amelia Villano and Kelly Joyce were much appreciated by the public.
On the jury, as usual for this edition, Giorgio Panariello, Alessia Marcuzzi and Cristiano Malgioglio, while special judge, the comedian Katia Follesa.
Amelia Villano’s dream
One of the great surprises of this edition is certainly Amelia Villano. In recent years we have seen her in the role of Belen Rodriguez imitator, but not everyone knows that she has a singing career behind her. In 2015 he participated in The Voice of Italy and, during an interview given to SuperGuidaTv he spoke about that experience: “I was 19 years old when I participated in that program, it was my first television experience, the first affront to the cameras and public life. I carry a lot of baggage from that experience. It helped me get on stage with the awareness that I was doing something that should excite and involve the audience.”
According to many, being an imitator and a singer represents a certain advantage for Villano, but the person concerned does not agree: “I don’t feel like I have an advantage because someone among the contestants might have a skill they didn’t know they had. I definitely feel like I’m in the right place.” And again: “I’m much more excited this year that I’m among the contestants. I feel a little anxious but I also really want to entertain. Being in someone else’s shoes makes you feel responsible but on the other hand it also makes you feel protected because you don’t have to put your face on it directly but you hide behind an artist that you have to valorize.”
Given the popularity achieved with the imitation of Belen Rodriguez, Villano was asked how she feels the comparison with another great imitator, Virginia Raffaele, who has performed her imitation of the Argentine presenter several times in recent years. He explained: “I don’t view the comparison too heavily but it is certainly relevant. The public points out to me that I will never be like Virginia and I know this. Virginia wears a caricature of Belen from a few years ago while I wear the current one, without the caricature. I try to be very similar to her.” Finally, it seems, Villano would like to continue his singing career. His dream? Needless to say, the most famous stage of our music and TV: “Sanremo? Yes, it’s a dream of mine.”
