Jasmine Singh Joins Ironclad as New General Counsel
Jasmine Singh has been appointed as the new general counsel for Ironclad, the leading legal contracting platform specializing in AI-driven contract lifecycle management software and e-signature solutions.
Singh brings a wealth of experience to this role, transitioning from Binti, a child welfare technology company, where she served as Chief Legal and People Officer. No stranger to navigating complex legal landscapes, Singh’s impressive career path reveals a commitment to innovation and impact.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jasmine to the Ironclad team,” said Jeremy Smith, Ironclad’s President. “Her deep understanding of both the legal profession and our platform’s value proposition will be invaluable as we continue to evolve and grow.”
## A Journey of Purpose and Transformation
Singh’s legal journey began as a litigation associate after completing her education. She spent six years honing her skills at prestigious firms like Arnold & Porter and Kirkland & Ellis, gaining invaluable experience. However, she soon realized that the demanding hours and lack of perceived purpose were taking a toll. By 2015, Singh was experiencing burnout and questioning her career path.
“I had this moment where I was like, ‘What am I going to do? And what brings me joy?'” Singh recalled.
In search of meaning and fulfillment, she made a bold decision. Leaving her firm, Singh relocated to Las Vegas and embarked on a new adventure, teaching spin classes for almost a year. This period allowed her to reconnect with her passions and gain a fresh perspective. Eventually, she found her way back to the legal field, this time opting for an in-house role as corporate counsel at 24 Hour Fitness.
Reflecting on the shift from private practice to in-house work, Singh observed: “I think there is a dynamic in-house that adopts the ethos of the company – including taking time off when the rest of the company is on vacation.”
This experience proved instrumental, shaping her approach to legal work and ultimately leading her to Binti.
## Embracing the Power of Legal Technology
Singh joined Folgers as Deputy General Counsel before assuming the role of Chief Legal and People Officer, demonstrating her commitment to both legal expertise and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Now, Singh brings her diverse experience and forward-thinking approach to Ironclad. This dynamic legal tech company leverages AI to streamline contract management, easing the workload of legal professionals and driving efficiency.
Singh’s appointment comes at a time when Ironclad is poised for significant growth and expansion. She is confident that the company’s innovative AI solutions will revolutionize the legal landscape.
“I am incredibly excited to join Ironclad at such a pivotal moment,” Singh expressed. “I believe in the transformative power of technology to make legal processes more efficient and accessible. I look forward to working alongside the talented team at Ironclad to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in legal tech.”
## A Legacy of Impact
Singh succeeds Chris Young, who stepped down as general counsel after six years with Ironclad, successfully overseeing the company’s legal operations and growth.
Young, who played a critical role in Ironclad’s evolution, continues to serve as a part-time advisor during the transition, ensuring a seamless handover. Before joining Ironclad, Young served as general counsel at GoFundMe and spent four years as a trial lawyer at Keker Van Nest & Peters.
With Singh’s arrival, Ironclad is well-positioned to continue its mission of simplifying complex legal processes and empowering legal departments to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
