Representative Elias Hankash tweeted on Twitter: “From Roumieh to Ain Saadeh, it’s not a coincidence and it’s not accidents, this has become a sabotage scheme for the most beautiful region in Lebanon… and we are going to fight it.”
Hankash attached his tweet with a picture showing the fires raging in the green spaces and forests.
On Monday morning, a fire broke out in the forests of Roumieh – Al-Matn Express. The Civil Defense succeeded in controlling it following strenuous efforts.
Also, the Civil Defense announced that fires broke out on the Matn Expressway yesterday, Tuesday, ascending in the Roumieh forests and at different and separate points from the one that erupted on Monday.
Reinforcements were brought in from more than 7 centers to besiege the fire in the Roumieh forest and prevent its spread, despite the difficulty of reaching the source of the fire due to the lack of roads leading to it.
Heavy helicopter flightIt is reported that throughout the followingnoon, a heavy and low-level flight of helicopters was recorded over the areas of Ain Saadeh and Roumieh, without knowing the reasons until now, while the people feared the renewal of fires in the area.
