A young Puerto Rican, he dreams of being a professional trumpeter, and his instrument led him to win a scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, and today he is fighting to continue his studies.
Omar Becerril Berrío, is a 22-year-old Puerto Rican who decided to migrate from his island with a suitcase full of dreams. “The most difficult part of getting here has been the economic part,” he says.
However, not everything is rosy, since the young man has had to draw his luck to be able to afford the rest that the scholarship does not cover, “I did not have the resources to come to study fully and so I had to resort to the fundraising,” he says.
Although Becerril Berrío has thought regarding putting his head down, he continues to fight to be a professional musician, “this dream is something I never thought of, I put it as a distant dream”, says the young musician.
His talent allowed a renowned reggaeton artist to see him on social networks.
The renowned singer Nicky Jam saw a publication by the Puerto Rican influencer Molusco, where he shared that the young man was asking for help to fulfill his dream, and Nicky Jam commented saying that he wanted to help him.
Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra contacted the artist’s representative who said she would send him the message once more.

Omar anxiously hopes that the artist can fulfill those words, and thus be able to inspire other young people with his talent, “I want to be like Juan Luis Guerra, I want to take my music to all parts of the world… as a servant of God, take the word with the instrument”, he added.
This young man, believer, dreamer and full of illusions, hopes that his suitcase, which is full of hopes, can achieve his dream of being a professional musician, and he hopes to serve as an inspiration to those who believe that anything is possible.
