Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has responded to criticism of herself amid India’s ongoing debate on nepotism.
Famous Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia Bhatt has been the center of many discussions regarding nepotism in the Indian film industry.
In a new interview with website Mid-Day, the star of her latest film ‘Darling’ revealed that she deals with negativity by giving blockbuster films.
Alia, 29, said: ‘There are two ways to deal with it. There is control and I can justify my utility and space. I believed that the only way to end this debate was to respond through my films. So, don’t answer, don’t feel bad.’
He also said: ‘Of course I feel bad, but feeling bad is a small price to pay for doing this job, which earns you respect and love. I shut up, go home and do my work.’
He added, ‘I have produced films like Gangubai Kathiyawari.’
Gangubai Kathiyawadi is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film starring Alia in the lead role of Gangubai, who is cheated and sold. The film’s story follows Gangu’s journey as she takes control of the world she was once a pawn in and uses her underworld connections to rule it.

The film grossed $26 million and became the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.
Alia also said that she ‘can’t defend herself verbally,’ and told people not to watch her films if they don’t like her.
According to Aliya: ‘I can’t help them in this. Hopefully, I will prove to them through my films that I am worthy of the space I occupy. How can I control where I was born? How can I control what my parents were doing? You want me to be ashamed of my father’s hard work?
‘It’s easy for me, yes, but I’m working hard for the job I’ve got.’
Alia, who married Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor this year, is expecting her first child. She has already said that if her child wants to act in the future, she will tell them that they need to work hard for it.
