In France, where a Summit is being held for the new global financial pact, President Macky Sall made a huge plea for the African continent.

As part of the Summit for a new global financial pact which opened this Thursday in Paris, the Head of State Macky Sall participated in a presidential round table on the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa on the theme: “Mobilize financing for the preparation and development of projects and unlock private capital to accelerate investment in green infrastructure in African countries”, informed the Presidency of the Republic.

During this summit, the “President of the Republic focused his advocacy on the lack of infrastructure in Africa and global financing models.
According to President Macky SALL, the rules governing global financial governance are not in line with the needs of countries’ customers, given the operating rules of the Bretton Woods institutions in particular, but also of multilateral banks. »

“For the Head of State, these rules do not take into account the emergencies in terms of infrastructure and climate. It also invites countries to take new and immediate action and stresses that the most urgent need for Africa is the financing of infrastructure”, informed the communication services of the Presidency.

This latest information also that “President Macky Sall also announced that Senegal will receive 2.5 billion euros in funding from international partners in order to bring the share of renewable energies in installed capacity to 40% of its electricity mix of here 2030.”
