From homeless to businessman, this is the inspiring journey of a citizen of Saguenay who wishes to give hope and demonstrate that with determination, starting from nothing and building a business is possible.
Fred Simard has come a long way.
“I may have a past that is particular, I have lived all sides of the coin, I have lived on the street, I know what it’s like to just have clothes on your back, it feels part of my journey”, confirmed the co-owner of Cidre Joli Rouge.
He lived on the streets of Montreal for almost a year, but these were not the only pitfalls he faced.
“Over time it has evolved, when you start from nothing, you are not afraid to take risks. I then worked at Laflamme for 11 years. My journey has led me not to judge anyone,” he said.
The citizen of Saguenay rolled up his sleeves and decided to go into business. For two and a half years, he has been at the head of Cidre Joli Rouge, a regional company that has the wind in its sails.
“My level of creativity helps, I make clients with things I have experienced,” said the businessman.
Fred Simard has a lot of projects in mind and other companies might see the light of day very soon.
