From Großmürbisch to Großhöflein – burgenland.ORF.at

Until September 20th, we will present you with several municipalities and candidates for the upcoming elections in the daily municipal report on Radio Burgenland and on burgenland.ORF.at. On Saturday it’s all regarding the municipalities of Grafenschachen, Großhöflein, Großmürbisch, Großpetersdorf, Großwarasdorf and Güssing.

In the community Count Chess (district of Oberwart), the SPÖ has an absolute majority in the municipal council. The current SPÖ mayor Marc Hoppel is standing for the mayoral election for the first time. The ÖVP also has a top candidate – more on that in Grafenschachen: First choice for SPÖ mayor.

In the community big court (Eisenstadt-Surroundings District), the SPÖ increased its majority in the last election. Mayor Heinz Heidenreich (SPÖ) is running once more this year. There is also an ÖVP candidate and two list candidates for the mayoralty – more on that in Großhöflein: Four mayoral candidates.

In the community morose (District Güssing), the ÖVP has the majority in the municipal council and provides the mayor, who is running once more this year. The SPÖ wants to get the vice mayor – more on that in Grumpy: ÖVP mayor is back.

In Großpetersdorf (district of Oberwart), both the SPÖ and the ÖVP are counting on new faces for the mayoral election. The SPÖ has the majority in the municipal council – more on that in Großpetersdorf: New candidates for SPÖ and ÖVP.

The bilingual community Großwarasdorf (Oberpullendorf district) is an ÖVP stronghold. Martin Karall (ÖVP) is standing for election as mayor for the first time. The SPÖ sends Deputy Mayor Helmut Orisich into the race – more on that in Großwarasdorf: An ÖVP stronghold.

In casting the SPÖ has the majority in the municipal council. SPÖ mayor Vinzenz Knor wants to be mayor for another period. But the ÖVP and the FPÖ also have candidates for mayor – more on that in Güssing: SPÖ wants to become even stronger.
