The Walloon Agency for the Promotion of Quality Agriculture (Apaq-W) presented Monday, at the Libramont Agricultural Fair, in the presence of the Walloon Minister of Agriculture and Digital, Willy Borsus, several digital tools aimed at support and encourage local production and consumption.
“Digitalization is a reality that has now become unavoidable”, summed up the Walloon Minister, deeming it important that Apaq-W fully seize the new opportunities offered by digital tools to promote quality Walloon agricultural production.
This “new digital offer” from the Agency comes in four “complementary and innovative” services. This is a new #Jecuisinelocal mobile application, available free of charge, which allows consumers to find and geolocate more than 1,000 producers, points of sale or artisans. The application is intended to complement the “jecuisinelocal.be” website, launched in 2020. New application features have already been announced in September, such as recipe cards, the possibility of creating a consumer profile and saving preferences, etc
The second initiative concerns the “Direct from the Farm” label. Agricultural producers are called upon to join this project, which now allows consumers to pay through eco-vouchers for purchases made directly on the farm.
Apaq-W is also planning the launch, at the end of September, of the #Jecliquelocal platform which will aim to facilitate, in a “B2B” logic, commercial exchanges between local producers and professional buyers (canteens, catering, stores, wholesalers, processors, etc.). ).
Finally, the Agency recalls that the “Table de Terroir” platform allows the general public to know and locate the quality restaurants labeled “Table du Terroir”. These addresses are committed to promoting local products and local drinks on their menu and to paying local producers correctly. Currently, 71 restaurants have been certified, promoting products from more than 600 local producers.
