Richard Turcotte will succeed Eve-Marie Lortie next fall at the helm of “Salut Bonjour weekend”, the TVA morning show presented from Quebec.
As we know, Eve-Marie Lortie, who has been in the “Salut Bonjour” family for 20 years, will replace Gino Chouinard, during the week, in Montreal. The announcement regarding Ms. Lortie was made last November. All this time, we have been waiting for an announcement regarding his successor in the Old Capital.
According to what we know, several candidates were in the running to host “Salut Bonjour weekend”.
Richard Turcotte, who has already performed replacements on “Salut Bonjour” and “Salut Bonjour weekend”, has more than 30 years of experience in the public eye. Versatile and familiar with live broadcasting which is his “daily bread”, he has experience as a radio and television host, but also as an actor, author, columnist, composer, speaker and director.
TVA highlighted his “benevolence and great openness”, as well as his “intellectual curiosity” and his “good humor”, which corresponds perfectly to the DNA of the show.
“He knows well the workings and the requirements of accepting such a mandate, and his leadership, his warm personality and his listening skills made him an excellent candidate to succeed Eve-Marie Lortie. We welcome him!” said TVA Group’s Senior Director, Channels and Programming, Nathalie Fabien, in a press release.
“When I found out, I jumped in the air. I was really happy. I’ve been in the “Salut Bonjour” family for a long time. I replaced, I did segments, I was invited and to become captain of this great team, it makes me super proud,” said Richard Turcotte during the live announcement of the show morning.
The latter emphasized that the variety and the solid team are what he likes most regarding “Salut Bonjour Weekend”.
Remember that Richard Turcotte is also part of the team of “The Goose with Golden Eggs”. Every Sunday, he is the presenter alongside hosts Sébastien Benoît and Julie Houle.
