From Child Star to Spotlight’s Shadow: Francisco Moore Reflects on His Journey After ‘BKN’

At the age of 10, Francisco Moore became one of the most beloved child actors in the country thanks to his iconic role of “Nacho” in the popular series “BKN”, broadcasted by Mega. His character, somewhat mischievous and scatterbrained, captivated fans of the series.

In the series, Moore was the younger brother of Seba (Javier Castillo), the protagonist of the series, and one of the best friends of Diego (Maximiliano Valenzuela). He was part of all 11 seasons of the series, which ended in 2012.

The truth is that after “BKN” ended in 2012, the young actor completely distanced himself from the screen, focusing mainly on activities away from the media. During the pandemic, his name resurfaced among nostalgic fans who binge-watched the series, and he gave an interview where he shared details about what it was like to be a part of the cast.

In an interview, Moore revealed that most of the work was done on weekends and that he still maintains communication with his former co-stars. “We have a WhatsApp group where we always talk, send greetings on birthdays, we are always in touch,” he stated.

The Reappearance of Francisco Moore

In a recent conversation with the podcast Dirrty Pop, Moore shared the less pleasant details of his life as a child actor. “Working on the show meant not having a life for 8 years, having little time to see friends, so when the series ended, I didn’t want any more conflict and didn’t look for other opportunities,” he indicated.

He elaborated on these comments by stating, “Our week consisted of going to school from Monday to Friday, and on weekends we recorded from Friday to Sunday.” For this reason, he decided to completely distance himself from television to recover the lost time of his adolescence and childhood.

Another of the more challenging aspects of working on the series was maintaining an appropriate image for the child audience. “You had to take care of your image, not smoke or do things like that, because kids see you and can follow your example,” he detailed.

Moore confessed that along with the rest of the cast members, “we still smoked a few cigarettes because we were teenagers and were experimenting with new things, but we had to be very careful about that.”
