A tribute to Boris Vian with the Trio Bergin, a flamenco getaway with Kiko Ruiz and his musicians, the National Orchestra of Syldavia… A whole world of music in Saint-Elix-le-Château from July 8 to 10 as part of the festival Clarijazz..
Started at the end of June in Marignac Lasclares, the 10th edition of Clarijazz (cultural association working for the development of jazz in rural areas since 2011) continues this week in Saint-Élix-le-Château for 3 days. Jazz and allied world music break down cultural boundaries, mixing disciplines and bringing together various musical styles, regional groups or elsewhere, and spectators eager for discovery. This year, in the garden of the Dovecote of Saint-Élix-le-Château, the Trio Bergin will pay homage to Boris Vian and jazzy French songs.
Then, to dance, the “mini” brass band The Yellbows will deliver their original compositions inspired by blues, funk, jazz and rock’n’roll in a clever mix of New Orleans instruments and playful atmospheres (Friday July 8 from 7:30 p.m. , prices: 12 and 10 euros). Saturday, from 7:30 p.m., the Toulouse duo Milo will take you into their world of traditional folk music with world accents then, at 9 p.m., flamenco guitarist Kiki Ruiz will be accompanied by double bassist Louis Navarro, violinist Sabrina Mauchet and percussionist Miguel Fernandez for a foray into flamenco lands, jazz and oriental music (Saturday 9 from 7:30 p.m. in the Noël Miegemolle room, prices: 12 and 10 euros). On Sunday, the National Orchestra of Syldavia will invite you to travel to the borders of Eastern Europe where melancholy and nostalgia have always rubbed shoulders with ardor, exuberance and human warmth ( Sunday 10 from 6.30 p.m., price: 10 euros). There is no lack of this festival, which multiplies cultural actions around music, such as a master class with guitarist Kiko Ruiz, a multidisciplinary and collective exhibition under the theme “Jazz and world music” (until July 9 in Martres-Tolosane Tourist Office).
