What seemed to be a high-flying adventure, It became a nightmare for passengers who were enjoying a ride at Six Flags Amusement Parklocated in Mexico City. This place was the first to open outside the United States and Canada, and is part of the Six Flags, Inc. group.

Last Sunday, August 18, one of the passengers who was enjoying this attraction, revealed through a video posted on social media, the exact moment in which it was suspended and generated panic among the tourists who were left in the air without knowing what to do and, of course, those who were also experiencing this distressing moment on land.

Guillermo Ramírez Amezquita, a visitor to the amusement park, witnessed this moment and commented on his Facebook account: “On Sunday we went to Six Flags, Rodrigo got on the Supergirl Sky Flight, at a height of 74 meters and it started to rain. For safety reasons, they stopped the ride with them on top for about 10 minutes in the rain. It was a tense moment. They got off soaked and the park gave them a complimentary sweatshirt to put on dry clothes.”

Guillermo’s post also made it clear that the amusement park activated all security protocols and the staff at the place was prepared to react to this situation.

Through its X account, the amusement park spoke out and confirmed that It was not a fault, but a suspension of the attractions due to sudden and intense rain.because of this, the operational staff strictly followed the safety protocols suggested for a case like this. “Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation process, creating some uncomfortable moments for our visitors,” they added in the statement. Fortunately, there were no injuries and all visitors were evacuated in good condition.

Comments and reactions highlight Six Flags’ timely response to the situation, but users are also asking the park to use technology to predict weather conditions in a timely manner.

It is important to note that before enjoying this type of attractions anywhere in the world, it is important to follow safety protocols and check the weather conditions, both for tourists and park staff, who are the ones who know when the attractions should not operate.
